Chania Restaurants

Chania restaurants are found almost anywhere: in the heart of Chania Town, at the old port, along with the beaches, even in small mountainous villages you will find a tavern at the square.

Tholos Restaurant

Tholos Restaurant is a charming eating place in the Old Town of Chania Crete. It is found in a lovely spot behind the Cathedral Church, among the narrow streets of the Old Town. The dining area is spread over three levels and can fill up until 150 guests. The area has a traditional and elegant decoration with stone walls and wooden elements.
The menu is based on Cretan cuisine and the food is prepared using traditional and healthy products from their land. The menu has a variety of vegetables that blend together to create the best salads as well as fruits and legumes.
The wines are carefully chosen to leave the customers with the best impressions. The owners of the restaurant are very much involved with the running of the restaurant. They try to enhance the dining experience with a wide choice of music until late in the evening.

Carte Postale

Offering a magnificent panoramic view of both the city and the sea, Carte Postale is located in Profitis Ilias (Sodi), a few minutes away from the Old Town of Chania. It is a trendy restaurant where you can enjoy fine drinking and eating, such as a great variety of wines, inspiring cocktails, pastry chef desserts, and a combination of the Mediterranean and Cretan Cuisine.
Carte Postale is a place where you can go for brunch every day until 14:00 o'clock too. It has glass windows and visitors can admire the view of the sea either sitting on the outside or inside of the restaurant. Coffee is also served until 20:00 o'clock and visitors can combine it with some of the chocolate desserts that are created with special ingredients. Additionally, Carte Postale’s marble bar is placed on the center of the restaurant and you can order different Cretan wines or summer drinks.

O Mylos Restaurant

"O Mylos tou Kerata", located in Platanias, is one of the oldest restaurants in Chania, as it first opened its doors in 1960. Back in that time, the tavern became well renowned for its quality and has preserved its reputation until today.
The cuisine offered is traditional Cretan and Mediterranean. All of the dishes are prepared from carefully selected materials and cooked in virgin olive oil. A big collection of carefully selected wines from the greek vineyards is also available.

Pallas

Located in one of the most beautiful parts of Chania Town, in a historical building, which once was home to Ali Pasha, Pallas stands out for its modern, distinctive style. Fresh, traditional Cretan products are the heart of Pallas cuisine and become the basis for creating dishes with a modern Mediterranean twist.
The interior boasts modern, quirky styles, that are characterized by bright areas with sofas and wooden tables. Whether you choose to sit inside, or you prefer the tables outside, overlooking the sea, electro, lounge, soul and funk music will accompany you.

Semiramis Restaurant

In the narrow streets of the Old Town in Chania, you will find the beautiful yard of “Semiramis”. There you can spend your evening in a friendly atmosphere, enjoying good food and the sounds of live Greek music.
Semiramis is open from April until October. All the dishes offered are inspired by a combination of traditional Cretan recipes and International cuisine. You can also choose from a variety of wines to accompany your meal.

Tamam Restaurant

Tamam restaurant is housed in a building that was originally used as a Turkish hammam. Located on the picturesque Zambeliou Street, Tamam has 3 spaces; 2 indoor and 1 outdoor, with the latter one having tables lining the alleyway of Zambeliou street.
Tamam menu combines Greek cuisine and 'politiki kouzina' (which draws its roots from the Greeks of Asia Minor). The restaurant's fine wine list consists of 40 selected labels and during the summer season, you will find more local, Cretan wine options.

Thalassino Ageri Restaurant

Thalassino Ageri is a traditional fish tavern located near the port of Chania, in a much quieter area than the Venetian port. It opened its doors in 1985 and since then it offers good quality fish food in a place of warm and lovely atmosphere.
The tables are lined on the pavement overlooking the port where the guests can enjoy the lovely view of the calm sea. The dishes are accompanied by good wines, ouzo or raki. The prices are quite reasonable that correspond to a fine food portion.

The Ginger Concept

The Ginger Concept is located in the heart of Old Town in Chania. It is an all-day cafe and wine bar with a frugal kitchen and a retail shop. It serves breakfast, brunch, lunch & dinner.

Akrogiali Taverna

The fish tavern Akrogiali is found at a romantic spot right on the beach of Nea Chora, outside Chania Town. This is a tavern whose cuisine combines tradition with a modern touch, all these in a beautiful environment by the sea and under the night sky.

As the tavern is just 2 steps from the beach, it is also a great place to have a meal after a relaxing swim. Enjoy the sunset with a drink of ouzo or house wine, while tasting our traditional recipes. Do not miss our dishes of fresh fish, lobsters, calamari and prawns. Delicious are also our salads and especially the urchin salad.
